BitBox Slave Overview
BitBox Slave is a specialized version of BitBox designed for reading, writing, and identifying ECU internal flash memory. It operates through CAN bus or K-line data interfaces using a J2534 Pass-Thru adapter.
Key Features & Functionality
If you work with multiple branches or have regular customers needing modified files, BitBox Slave allows them to access all the modules you own while keeping your files and developments secure. Slaves can read and write ECU files, but only you, as the Master, can see them. More importantly, files can only be written with your approval. You will also be notified when a file has been used.
How It Works
- You can link an unlimited number of Slave dongles to your Master dongle.
- A Slave tool connects to a vehicle, reads the ECU file, and sends a calibration request to the Master.
- As the Master, you receive the request, save the original file, and upload either the modified or original version for the Slave to write.
- Once the Slave writes the file, it is marked as USED and cannot be used again.
Files are securely stored and only accessible via the Master dongle, ensuring no direct file transfer between you and the Slave.
